Code of Ethics

What is the code?

UMA Marine Agencies (“UMA”) is committed to complying with all applicable laws and regulations. The Code states UMA’s stance on integrity and legal compliance. It defines the behaviour we want to promote, determines proper business conduct and directs how we identify potential misconduct. In doing so, we all do our part to ensure the success of UMA.

UMA’s main operating values are:

Who does the Code apply to?

The Code sets out the minimum standards of conduct we expect from any party working for or representing UMA.

It applies to all employees, customers, suppliers, subcontractors and consultants. It applies for all transactions, large or small and drives the behaviour expected from every employee in the conduct of its business, at all times.

Failure to abide by the Code may result in disciplinary action.

Corporate Ethics

UMA respects and abides by all applicable supranational laws, regulations and international standards governing employment and labour practices.

UMA strives to maintain a work environment in which all employees are treated equally and fairly, prohibiting any form of discrimination, harassment, exploitation or abuse.

We are against all forms of slavery including servitude, forced labour, human trafficking and child labour.

UMA Clients

Clients can expect UMA employees to do everything within their power to meet their needs, exceed expectations and foster positive, honest relationships.

UMA takes responsibility for delivering services of value and quality, supported by the necessary technological and commercial expertise.

UMA Employees, Suppliers, Subcontractors and Consultants

UMA employees and any third party working on UMA’s behalf do so cooperatively, in a spirit of trust built on honest communication, professional conduct and fairness to achieve common goals.

Workplace health and safety standards are prioritized, with such practices extended to all who undertake work for UMA.

Training and professional development is available to all employees ensuring that they are adequately equipped for their specific role.

Community and Environment

UMA is committed to creating a healthy, safe and secure work environment for all undertaking work on UMA’s behalf.

UMA is dedicated to promoting a sustainable environment by developing and implementing effective policies and practices. UMA believes that sustainability is both, an environmental and business imperative.

UMA recognises the importance of contributing to the well-being and development of the community in which we work, operating facilities in a manner that promotes the health, safety and security of employees, suppliers and the general public.

Anti-trust and Competition

UMA supports free enterprise and seeks to compete fairly, ethically and within the framework of applicable competition laws. UMA does not engage in any conduct that would unfairly diminish competition within its business field or enter into any formal or informal agreements that may restrict competition.
